criminals gone wild?

I saw this video a few years ago and wondering why I watched it. When it first came out, there was much controversy around the legitimacy. Controversy as if the documentary was staged or in fact and actual depiction of criminal life. After viewing the almost 1 hour and 30 min film, I myself came to the conclusion that it is just make believe, shock value entertainment.

The video features “crimes” like shootings, muggings, car jackings, home invasions and other mind blowing activity. The film maker says the crimes are live and uncut, but come on.. Any person with common sense knows he is trying to sell copies and make money.

ufc 144

It is tonight, actually thought it was last weekend. On the main card there is 7 fights. Seven fights? I don’t think the UFC has had this many fights ever on a card. The location is Saitama, Japan so it is necessary to give them a great show.

Rampage plans to give his Japanese fans an explosive fight and more importantly, a win. Ryan Bader is the perfect guy to fight due to his wrestling background. Jake Sheilds looks to rebound off a few loses. He faces Yoshihiro Akiyama. The main event will be nothing short of fireworks.

Frankie Edgar is the man in the UFC right now. He defeated BJ Penn twice and got a win over Gray Maynard to top the draw they had previously. Ben Henderson looks to derail Edgar tonight. Henderson has good experience in WEC as well as other promotions, so he will not be intimidated. I look forward to tonights card!

throwbacks

I forget what hip hop station it is, either 107.5 or 92.3 that once in awhile has the throwback songs. The guys says something like “Whatcha know about that youngin? A throwback” haha.

I heard one this evening, and it was “Ain’t it Funny” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule. Have not heard it in awhile and makes me appreciate older hip hop. Those two were a great duo in “I’m Real”.

Some other throwbacks I enjoy are “Put it on Me” by Ja Rule, “Foolish” by Ashanti, “Sunshine” by Lil Flip. “Dilemma” by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland and more I cannot think of at the moment.

diaz vs condit

Man I have to applause Carlos Condit. He is now the new UFC Interim Welterweight champion. Beating a fighter of Nick Diaz’ caliber is not an easy task. Condit used a lot of movement in the cage to avoid Diaz’ strikes. The kicks he utilized may have won him the fight.

When I scored the fight, I had rounds 1, 3-5 for Condit and gave Diaz round 2. Call me crazy but that is how I saw it. It looks like Carlos Condit will fight George St. Pierre. Nick Diaz mentioned retiring. I really don’t think he will do this. He was upset about the outcome.

chavez jr vs rubio

With all the talks of Mayweather and Pacquiao, others are lighting up the boxing scene no problem. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Marco Antonio Rubio squared off in a dog fight last Saturday night. From round 1 to round 12, the fight was a slugfest. Although the crowd at the Alamodome seemed to have their minds on something else at times. Larry Merchant mentioned the fans were doing the wave at one time during the fight.

The judges scored it 118-110, 116-112, 115-113 all for Julio. Seems right, I thought the last judge was generous. Rubio was the most experienced boxer Chavez has fought thus far in his career. Rubio admitted Chavez was too heavy for him. Both men came out of the 12 round fight with some good shiners.

When asked after the fight about an upcoming opponent, Chavez Jr said he is ready for Sergio Martinez. He told Merchant that if he fought how he did tonight, he would lose. However, they would meet at a lighter weight and said he will beat Martinez. I hope to see this fight and will root for Chavez Jr!

super bowl xlvi

Alright the Super Bowl is tomorrow night. A rematch of the 2008 Super Bowl XLII in which the Giants won 17 to 14 beating the Patriots. I was hoping two different teams would be in this years Super Bowl but what can I do.

Nevertheless, we should be in for a good game. Being a rematch, the Patriots really want this one. The giants wish to prove their first outing was not a fluke. I really do not mind either team. Putting aside what I said earlier, I just enjoy underdog teams.

I think the Patriots will pull this one out. No reason, I just think Tom Brady and his squad are hungrier. Belichick is going to be pushing them hard. The Giants record this season is 9-7. Despite this, they are in the big game. If Eli Manning keeps stays focused they will come out with two victories over the favored Patriots.
